A Burns Manor Bed Project grew from the need to update all the hand-crank beds in Burns Manor. The Foundation replaced all the old beds, with updated electrically functional beds. This was a huge undertaking that benefited both residents and staff. The beds now have electronic controls, giving residents the control to adjust their own bed to their personal needs. The old beds had hand cranks, making the need to raise or lower a bed or a portion of the bed a barrier to comfort for the resident. Staff had to manually crank the head or foot of a bed up and or down.

In 2005, the Foundation was able to assist the Hutchinson School District in placing AED units in each of the schools. These units, used for defibrillation during emergency situations, are in each of the schools in the district.

Hutchinson Area Health Care (HAHC) is the main beneficiary of the Foundation’s work effort. The organization’s mission is to provide safe, superior care, and the Foundation proudly supports this mission. Funding health care programs, education, services, equipment and facilities

        Hutchinson Community Hospital

Hugs and Kisses, an infant security system was installed in Hutchinson Community Hospital in 2006. The Foundation completely funded this project and we are proud of our ability to provide such a valuable system to our Birth Care Service Area. The system is two-fold, first it creates a barrier for child abduction. Secondly, it is a monitoring system to match new moms to their baby.
